The BIG Read featured author Marian Schembari will host a hands-on writing workshop. Drawing on her own journey of self-discovery and neurodivergence, Marian will guide participants through exercises in personal narrative, reflection and finding your authentic voice on the page.
Join the School of Liberal Arts and Student Activities to celebrate Earth Day with a viewing of “Ohio: Wild at Heart” from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22 in College Hall 100. The documentary showcases Ohio’s natural beauty, featuring aerial views of Hocking Hills, Lake Erie and local wildlife conservation efforts. Narrated by Archie Griffin, the 40-minute film highlights Ohio’s state parks and waterways to inspire outdoor exploration. The Owens Health Information Technology program is hosting the Northwest Ohio Health Information Management Association annual symposium on Wednesday, April 22 in Heritage Hall 123. Registration runs from 12:30 a.m.-noon with the symposium following from noon-4:30 p.m.
Health information management (HIM) professionals from across northwest Ohio will attend to receive continuing education units, including sessions on AI essentials, risk adjustment and veterinary medicine in HIM.

Jeremy Meier, chair of Fine and Performing Arts, will share a free preview of his one-man show, “Toward Splendid Misery,” which presents Thomas Jefferson reflecting upon the American Revolution and the writing of the Declaration of Independence. Sampling from portions of the show, the presentation will be part performance and part discussion, as Meier talks about the research, writing and acting components.
