Frequently Asked Questions
What credit cards does Owens accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover. If you need help paying with a credit card on Ozone, contact Student Financial Services.
Can I pay my bill with a debit card?
Yes. You may pay with a MasterCard, Visa or Discover debit card. Because credit and debit transactions are processed together, debit card transactions will be assessed a service fee.
Can I use a check from my credit card company to pay by e-check?
No. The credit card company will not honor these checks when used electronically. The payment will be returned as “account not found.” You may use these checks in person only.
Why do I have to pay a service fee?
The service fee covers credit card transaction fees assessed by card issuers. Credit card processing companies set the 2.85% fee.
How will the service fee appear on my bill?
On your credit card statement, you will see two transactions—one for the student account payment and one for the service fee.
If I receive a refund on my tuition or other costs, is the service fee refundable?
The service fee is non-refundable, even if the payment to which it relates is canceled, refunded, credited or charged back.
How can I avoid paying the service fee?
You can avoid the service fee by paying on Ozone with an e-check. This is a direct bank transfer from your checking or savings account.
Payments made in person or by mail are not subject to a service fee.
