The Walter E. Terhune Art Gallery welcomes “Birds and Sky,” featuring new work developed by eight regional artists to memorialize the annual warbler migration through northwest Ohio and The Biggest Week in American Birding.

They’ll explore the emotional, ethical, social and environmental dimensions of climate change. Together, we’ll discuss how people respond to uncertainty, why hope and resilience matter and what meaningful action can look like in our communities. Whether you’re passionate about environmental issues or simply curious about the conversation, this engaging discussion offers new perspectives and practical insights for everyone.

Owens is one of 15 college campuses across the nation to be selected to participate in “Project HOPE,” a public art project by Los Angeles-based street artist and muralist Corie Mattie. Stop by the outside entrance to College Hall near Admissions to participate from 8-10:30 a.m. A 36-inch by 77-inch stencil of the phrase “Joy As A Verb” will be chalked on the ground and doves stencils will be available to anyone to add around the words. The first 25 participants will receive a special grab bag, and additional stickers, pins and Hope Cards will be available as well.
