Owens Outstanding Grad Schroeder Finds Inspiration Close to Home
Autumn Schroeder has always wanted to go into law enforcement as a career, and the Northwood resident didn’t have to search far for her inspiration. Her dad, Trent Schroeder, has spent 35 years working in the field and is currently a court administrator.
“My dad’s drive and passion has always made it easy for me to know exactly what I want to pursue for the rest of my life,” Schroeder said. “Knowing how much he has accomplished and how it shaped him as a person makes me want to be exactly like him.”
Schroeder might not have started her law enforcement career yet, but she’s already accomplished a lot. She’ll graduate this month from Owens Community College with her associate degree in Criminal Justice while being named the outstanding graduate in her field.
In addition to taking classes, Schroeder has worked two jobs and was a member of the Owens Express soccer team during her first year on campus. Taking College Credit Plus classes while still a student at Northwood High School helped her get a head start on her college career.
Throughout those times, Schroeder’s motivation has remained steady—getting her college degree and attending the police academy at Owens.
“I’m very excited to continue to work towards my future, and the joy I feel when hard work pays off is what keeps me going,” she said.
“My dad has helped me with everything I’ve done and pushed me to be the best version of myself. He is my biggest inspiration for the majority of my plans in the future.”
