Military Tuition Assistance Return Policy

Students receiving Department of Defense (DoD) Tuition Assistance (TA) who withdraw from a course before completing 60 percent of the course will be subject to a return of unearned TA funds in accordance with DoD policy.

Owens Community College will return any unearned Tuition Assistance funds to the military service branch on a proportional basis through at least the 60 percent point of the course. No Tuition Assistance funds will be returned once a student has completed more than 60 percent of the course.

For purposes of this policy, the student’s official withdrawal date will be used to determine the percentage of Tuition Assistance funds that must be returned. Students should be aware that a withdrawal may result in a debt owed to their military service branch.
