Certificate Requirements
Congratulations on moving toward earning a certificate at Owens Community College! You are eligible to get your certificate as soon as you successfully finish your required courses and meet all the guidelines.

How To Submit Your Petition
Once you’ve completed all the required courses, you can submit a petition to the Records Office. This lets the Records Office know you’re ready to be considered for your certificate.
- Log in to Ozone
- Log in to Workday
- Select the Academic App
- Under Academic Records, select Apply for Program Completion
- Select the appropriate program and select confirm
The Records Office will check your progress. If everything looks good, you’ll get an email with your certificate status.
If Your Certificate Petition Is Approved
When your petition is approved, it means you’re eligible to receive your certificate. After final grades are posted, the Records Office will check to make sure you’ve met all the requirements.
If Your Certificate Petition Is Denied
Don’t worry! You’ll get an email explaining what’s missing. You can talk to your academic advisor or email us for help. Once you’ve fixed the issues, you can submit a new petition for a future semester.
If You Have Incomplete Grades
If you have an “NGR” (No Grade Reported) or an “I” (Incomplete), you’ll need to finish those courses within 30 days after the semester ends. If not, your petition will be denied.
