Graduate Check-in Information
- 11 a.m. – Doors open and graduate check-in begins at The Aquarium.
- 1:15 p.m. – Graduates must be checked in.
- 1:30 p.m. – Graduates must be lined up for the ceremony.

Downtown Toledo Parking
Downtown Toledo offers a variety of parking options within walking distance of the Huntington Center. Graduates and guests should plan to allow extra time for travel, parking and security screening upon entering the venue. Visit the Huntington Center parking webpage for more information.
The National Anthem
An Owens student will sing The National Anthem. If you are interested in performing at Commencement, please email the Commencement team and provide your name and contact information as well as the name and contact information for your vocal coach/teacher.
Accessibility
An accessible seating area is available for guests who use wheelchairs, have limited mobility, are deaf or hard of hearing and/or are blind or have low vision. Guests are asked to reserve accessible seats for the ceremony by emailing the Owens Disability Resource Center or calling (567) 661-7007.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Commencement Ceremony
Why is Owens moving to one Commencement ceremony annually?
Owens is moving to one annual Commencement ceremony to create a unified celebration for all graduates while allowing more family members and friends to attend. Holding one college-wide ceremony in a larger venue provides additional seating for guests and an enhanced Commencement experience for students and their supporters.
How long will the ceremony last?
The ceremony will last approximately two hours. Graduates are required to remain at their seats until the ceremony is complete. Graduates will be released at the conclusion of the ceremony.
Will tickets be required for guests to attend?
No. Guests will not need tickets and there is no limit on the number of guests per graduate.
What about parking?
Downtown Toledo offers a variety of parking options within walking distance of the Huntington Center. Graduates and guests should plan to allow extra time for travel, parking and security screening upon entering the venue.
What is the Huntington Center’s bag policy?
Owens is following the Huntington Center’s bag policy. All bags are subject to inspection. Flowers and small gifts are permitted.
The following items are not permitted inside the venue: weapons of any kind, coolers, beach balls, fireworks, laser pens or laser products, aerosol spray cans, tools (e.g., wrenches, pliers), chairs of any kind (excluding wheelchairs for accessibility), pets (except service animals) and any other item deemed unsafe or inappropriate by venue management.
All policies are subject to change based on venue and safety requirements.
May I bring food and beverages to Commencement?
No. Food and beverages may not be brought into the Huntington Center. Concessions will be open before and during the ceremony, serving a variety of food and beverages for purchase.
Are there any special considerations about the venue?
Closed-toe shoes are recommended for warmth. Graduates will be seated on the main floor, which covers the venue’s ice rink.
