Foundation Scholarships
Scholarship Application for the 2026–2027 Academic Year Now Open
Priority reviews begin June 1, 2026. The Foundation will continue to accept and review applications until all funds are depleted.
About Owens Community College Foundation Scholarships
- Owens Foundation scholarships assist students financially so they can pursue and complete their education.
- Scholarships do not have to be repaid.
- Generally, scholarships are awarded to students based on criteria such as a specific field of study or major, academic performance or community service.
- Scholarships may also be established to support a specific career field.
Student Information
Application
- Students need to submit only one general application per academic year to be considered for available Owens Foundation scholarships for which they meet the criteria.
- Scholarships are available each academic year and are subject to available funding.
- Students will need to reapply each year.
Personal Statement
- Owens Foundation scholarships require a personal statement of at least 100 words, including your education and career goals.
- Students are encouraged to contact the Writing Center for help with writing the essay/personal statement. Dates and times may vary.
- Please email the Writing Center for assistance.
- Please do not include the student’s name in this essay.
FAFSA
- Scholarships based on financial need require you to have a current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file.
- Please use school code 005753 when completing the FAFSA to ensure it is on file with Owens Community College.
- If you wish to be considered for all scholarships, including those based on financial need, you must have a current FAFSA on file.
- Applicants without a current FAFSA on file will only be considered for scholarships that are not based on financial need.
Award Amounts
- The dollar amounts awarded to students will vary by scholarship and are generally split between fall and spring semesters.
