A Stronger Owens: Celebrating Teamwork and Success
Posted on September 19, 2024
As we continue the momentum for another exciting school year at Owens Community College, it’s impossible not to feel the energy and enthusiasm. Enrollment is trending well, programs are expanding and our students are achieving great things. What stands out to me is that all of this is possible because of our dedicated team of faculty and staff.
Every time I hear someone from the community speak highly of Owens or when students express gratitude for their experiences here, I know that these successes are a direct reflection of this effort. Whether it’s guiding students through their first steps on campus, helping them navigate the complexities of their courses or mentoring them through their personal and academic challenges, this work makes a lasting impact.
This is why employee engagement is one of our strategic priorities. As a mission-centered institution, we must continually and intentionally foster a culture where everyone feels empowered, supported and motivated to contribute.
Our team has embraced this culture with enthusiasm, whether it’s through the recent faculty assessment day, helping bring our Healthcare Education Center to life, meeting with business and industry leaders about training and education needs, or stepping up to make sure students are equipped with the tools and support they need to succeed. The work we do matters.
We are one institution, one Owens, working together toward a common goal. This focus allows us to face challenges head-on and to innovate in ways that set us apart. Whether you’re in the classroom, behind the scenes, or providing student support, together, we are creating something truly special. As we move forward, I encourage all of us to take pride in Owens and to continue leaning into the work that inspires us all.
Thank you to our faculty and staff for their hard work, passion and unwavering commitment to our students and our mission, knowing that every step we take strengthens the future of Owens Community College and the community we serve.
I’m excited to see what we’ll achieve next. Here’s to a successful and fulfilling academic year ahead!
