Liberal Arts Internships

The School of Liberal Arts (SLA) is devoted to making sure that all students succeed, both in and out of the classroom.

Internships with area employers have proven to provide students with lifelong learning experiences that are directly applicable to the student’s educational goals.

The goal of our internships is to provide qualified students with the opportunity to apply the skills they have learned in the classroom while gaining experience and knowledge in the working world.

SLA Internships are temporary, semester-long positions, usually without pay. Students participating in the internships earn two college credits toward their degree. Students usually participate in an internship after they have completed three semesters of coursework. A GPA of at least 2.5 is required to participate.

The intent of the SLA Internship is to offer participating employers highly productive interns who are career-motivated toward a specific profession and assist students in acquiring on-the-job experience while they are attending college.

The Owens Community College School of Liberal Arts is pleased to offer this beneficial opportunity for both students and our community partners.
