Outcome 1

Students will apply policies, regulations and standards to ensure the accuracy and integrity of health data.

Students will apply both internal and external compliance standards and initiatives for all health information functions.

Students will demonstrate use of quality and statistical data related to health care services.

Students will code and group diagnoses and procedures for the purpose of reimbursement, revenue cycle management, standardization and statistical analysis.

Students will apply principles of leadership used to effectively manage human resources, budgets and the methods for analyzing and improving organizational systems.

Students will apply legal principles, policies, regulations and standards for the confidentiality, privacy and security in the use of health information.

Students will demonstrate a working knowledge of internal and external health information technologies in various clinical and administrative applications.
