“IPE empowers healthcare education students by providing them opportunities for skills that are required in an ever changing and complex healthcare system. Through IPE, students can exercise collaboration, grow in respect for other healthcare disciplines, build confidence and competence, and cultivate a lifelong learning mindset.

For example, at the annual assistive technology/IPE fair, students learn how assistive technologies (which have an increased and emerging presence in healthcare) and other healthcare professionals can work collaboratively to meet the needs of a shared case study patient. At this event, students can build relationships with other disciplines through student interaction as well as network with community resources to meet the needs of future patients.”
