What Is College Credit Plus?
How the CCP Program Works
Qualified students in grades 7-12 may take nonsectarian college-level courses at a university or college within the state. When you participate in CCP, you can earn both high school and college credits that go on your official transcript.
College and Career Readiness
- Two convenient Owens campus locations in Toledo and Findlay, as well as online courses to fit your busy schedule
- Full academic support, including one-on-one advising, tutoring and career exploration
- Access to all the excellent facilities on the Owens campuses, including libraries, computer labs and fitness centers
Choosing Your CCP Courses
You can enroll in CCP courses at Owens to:
- Fulfill your high school graduation requirements
- Get a head start on your college general education classes
- Try out college classes to explore your interests
- Save money by earning college credit while you’re in high school
Your high school counselor will help you decide which courses are the best fit for your academic and career goals.
Course Restrictions
According to Ohio’s First 15 rule, you must complete 15 credit hours in Level I before progressing to Level II courses. In addition, a few course types are not open to CCP students. These include study abroad, physical education and remedial courses.

Buying Textbooks and Supplies
How To Get Your Textbooks
- If you choose CCP Option B, you do NOT need to pay for your college textbooks—your high school will cover the cost. Check with your high school counselor to determine whether your school has the required books in stock or if you will need to order them through the Owens bookstore.
- If you choose CCP Option A, you are required to pay ALL course expenses, including textbooks.
- If you are a homeschooled CCP student, you will need to pay for your textbooks.
Order Online from the Owens Bookstore
If You Need Additional Supplies
Some Owens courses may require materials beyond textbooks, such as calculators, art supplies or scrubs. These items will be listed on the course syllabus. Supplies not listed as required on the syllabus must be purchased at your own expense. Your high school counselor will help you obtain the supplies you need before classes start. At the end of the semester, you must return all course-related items to your counselor.
