Tasha Hussain Black,Executive Director, Strategic Marketing and Communications

Tasha Hussain Black is a proven executive leader with more than 25 years of experience in marketing, branding, strategic planning and team development across a broad range of industries, including consumer products, economic development, non-profits and manufacturing. She is the Vice President for Strategic Initiatives, Marketing and Communications at Owens Community College where she is leads the marketing strategy for the institution and is a member of the Leadership Team.

During her career, Ms. Hussain Black has led a breadth of diverse teams in a variety of roles. She served as Vice President of Marketing for The Andersons, Inc. for more than a decade where she recruited and built the marketing team from the ground up. She also developed and executed the strategic marketing plan for multiple business units and departments for this $9 billion organization. She also served in vice presidency positions at The Image Group, Regional Growth Partnership and Hickory Farms and consulted area non-profit organizations on marketing, change management and strategic planning.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Bowling Green State University and her Master of Business Administration (EMBA) from the University of Toledo. She has taught courses in Strategic Management at the University of Toledo, and currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Bowling Green State University, where she teaches “Managing Change in Organizations” in the Department of Management.

Ms. Hussain Black strives to make positive change our community. She serves on the Board of Directors for WGTE Public Media and The Islamic Food Bank.
