College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)
The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) is a rigorous College Board program that allows you to demonstrate your mastery of college-level material in introductory subjects and earn college credit.
CLEP offers exams that cover courses typically taken in the first two years of college. Through CLEP examinations, you can:
- Accumulate credit toward your degree by demonstrating the knowledge you’ve gained independently, allowing you to begin studies at a higher level to save valuable time and money
- Demonstrate your knowledge in subject areas to earn exemption from introductory courses, enabling you to move ahead to more advanced courses and new fields
- Show your level of competency in subjects to determine placement, particularly for world language and mathematics courses
Information on CLEP testing and minimum scores is available in these policies:
Available CLEP Tests
