Honors Option Internship
Put Your Knowledge To Work With an Honors Internship
Ready to boost your resume with hands-on work experience? An Honors Option Internship gives you the chance to showcase your skills for future employers and expand your professional network.
This option is available in place of the Honors Option Contract, and it’s open to scholars from all programs. Your internship semester is tuition-free!
How the Honors Internship Works
- Internships are unpaid positions for 15 weeks (one semester), guided by your Honors Mentor.
- You’ll work a minimum of 150 hours over the semester, averaging 10 hours per week. Work hours are coordinated with your internship host/employer.
- At the end of the semester, you and your host/employer will complete a final assessment.
- You’ll earn six Honors Scholar points and fulfill your Honors Option Contract. Your internship will appear on your Owens transcript.
You must complete 30 credit hours before you apply for the internship option.
In Their Words
“The Honors Program taught me that no matter how insurmountable the task may seem, there is always a way to complete it; you just have to hunker down.”
