Explore Careers
The three main questions when exploring a career are:
- Why this major?
- What draws you to it? Is it a good fit?
- Take an interest assessment, skills assessment or self-assessment.
- What can you do with this major? If you want to learn more about a specific profession, there are many ways you can Explore Careers:
- Select a preferred profession on the A-Z index and explore the Occupational Outlook Handbook.
- Type the profession you are interested in and find out the profile, education needed and types of programs that prepare you for that profession.
- Select a major.
- Use Career Coach—another great resource to assess interests and explore careers.
- Watch videos related to your career.
- How can you go about it?
- Go to the Occupational Outlook Handbook and choose an occupation of interest e.g., if you want to be an accountant click on it and then choose How to Become an Accountant or Auditor. Do the same with your occupation of choice.
