Technical Standards, Medical Assisting Certificate


Purpose

Applicants and students should possess the following skills and abilities in order to perform the required tasks and duties of the profession.

Owens Community College Medical Assisting Certificate has a responsibility to educate our medical assisting students to be caring, compassionate and professional.

All individuals admitted to the Owens Community College Medical Assisting Certificate will be asked to verify that they can meet these standards with or without accommodations.

Successful completion of the Medical Assisting Certificate at Owens Community College signifies that the completer has the knowledge and skills of an entry-level medical assistant and meets the requirements to sit for the national certification exams available.

Any applicant or student with concerns about meeting any technical standards is strongly encouraged to discuss with the Program Chair.
