Department of Humanities

The Department of Humanities will touch almost every student, as they are the backbone of general education, which is part of every degree before a student starts their area of study.

By taking a course in Humanities, a student can expect to learn how to communicate thoughts through writing papers, learning another language or presenting speeches. Also, a student will learn how to think critically and to consider deeper issues through the subjects of philosophy, history and literature.  The result of studying these subjects is a well-rounded person who employers wish to hire and who employers value.

In addition to the wide variety of courses offered in Humanities, there are four transfer pathways:  CommunicationHistoryLiterature and Philosophy and three certificates: American Sign Language (ASL)Media Influencer and Power Skills.
