Your Nursing Calling, Amplified
Lead as a voice for patients, families and communities.
Earning your BSN is about more than adding a credential after your name—it’s about stepping into the fullest version of yourself as a nurse. You’ve already proven your dedication to patient care, and now it’s time to build on that foundation with the knowledge, confidence and leadership skills to make an even greater impact.

Three-Semester BSN: Lead. Advocate. Impact.
Your first semester begins to prepare you for the transition to professional nursing practice, nursing informatics and technology and community and public health nursing. You’ll also strengthen your interpersonal communication skills and select an elective tailored to your career goals.
In the second semester, you’ll dive deeper into patient-centered care and collaborative healthcare practices in nursing. You’ll explore nursing research methods and gain an understanding of system-based practices and healthcare systems. Courses in sociology and life span psychology will help you develop a comprehensive perspective on the diverse populations you’ll serve.
In your final semester, you’ll focus on nursing and collaborative leadership, professionalism, and healthcare quality and safety. This coursework will refine your skills in team management, system improvement and patient advocacy, while general education courses round out your education and prepare you for leadership roles.
Career Outcomes
Graduate ready to excel in expanded clinical roles, pursue graduate education or transition into specialized fields like public health, management and advanced nursing positions. Your BSN credential positions you for leadership opportunities at healthcare facilities and opens doors to rewarding education roles, where you can shape the next generation of nurses through clinical and lab instruction.
The financial benefits are substantial. In Toledo, BSN-prepared nurses earn an average annual salary of $87,918—over $11,000 more than the average annual salary of $76,530 for all registered nurses.
