Study Your World
Uncover the people, places and forces driving our world forward.
Geography is the study of place—examining how physical forces and human activity interact to shape our world. With Owens’ Geography Transfer Pathway, AA, explore everything from climate change to regional dialects and learn to solve real-world problems. You’ll build the skills needed to transfer seamlessly into a four-year degree and launch a career that positively impacts communities, economies and the planet.
Small Classes. Expert Guidance.
Our instructors are experts who take pride in your success. Combined with our small class sizes, you’ll get one-on-one mentorship and precise technical feedback tailored to your goals.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Owens is one of only three community colleges nationwide to host a chapter of Gamma Theta Upsilon (GTU), the International Geography Honor Society. Our geography students regularly collaborate with the University of Toledo’s GTU chapter, participating in joint events and activities.
Field experiences enrich our curriculum, with trips to destinations such as UT’s Lake Erie Center in Oregon and regional geography conferences. We also bring in guest speakers, including local television meteorologists and geography alumni who share insights from their professional careers in the field.
