From Flat Welds to Pipe Precision
You’ll begin with a comprehensive introduction to welding processes, studying different methods while gaining hands-on experience in our fully equipped lab. From there, you’ll master shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) techniques, starting with flat and horizontal positions before progressing to the more challenging vertical and overhead welds.
Next, focus specifically on pipe welding applications, applying your skills to real-world scenarios and industry-standard practices. You’ll finish with a pre-certification and testing course that complies with the ASME IX Welding Code, preparing you to demonstrate your abilities and meet rigorous industry standards.
Get right to work or continue your education to earn an associate degree. All credits earned in this certificate transfer seamlessly into Owens’ Welding Major, AAS program, giving you flexible options for your career path.
