Owens’ Pre-Occupational Therapy Concentration, AS helps you to empower everyone—from children with developmental challenges to seniors recovering from injury—to regain independence, improve daily function and achieve personal goals.

Study the human body and the people you’ll serve in your first semester with psychology, composition, healthcare careers, medical terminology and anatomy and physiology. These foundational courses establish the scientific knowledge and communication skills essential for healthcare practice.
In your second semester, you’ll advance your understanding with anatomy and physiology II, lifespan psychology and mathematics to sharpen your problem-solving and critical thinking skills. You’ll also develop essential communication and interpersonal abilities through courses in public speaking or human communication—key skills for working effectively with clients and healthcare teams.
Your third semester broadens your scientific knowledge with microbiology and immunology and ethics, while continuing to strengthen your writing abilities through composition. You’ll also complete Certified Nurse Aide Training, gaining hands-on clinical experience that bridges theory with real-world patient care.
The final semester offers flexibility to choose five electives that align with your interests and career goals while completing your associate degree requirements. Whether you focus on strengthening your scientific foundation, exploring the humanities, or pursuing additional healthcare-related courses, you’ll be crafting an education tailored to your success in occupational therapy programs.

Enrollment is easy—just fill out an online admissions application to get started. We’ll ask you to submit your transcripts for course placement and college credit.
Upon acceptance, schedule a meeting with your admissions advisor to register for classes. Next, attend an on-campus orientation and meet with your student financial services advisor to discuss ways to pay for college.
