Start Your Journey to Vascular Sonography
In your first year, you’ll learn about the human body and healthcare through courses in anatomy and physiology, medical terminology and an introduction to health science careers. You’ll begin to understand the vascular system and cardiovascular anatomy essential for sonography. Composition and communication courses will sharpen the critical thinking and interpersonal skills you’ll need to work with patients and medical teams.
Deepen your knowledge of circulatory and vascular structures with advanced anatomy and physiology, and explore human development through lifespan psychology. You’ll strengthen your ability to interpret diagnostic data through a math course and study diverse patient populations in sociology.
In the third semester, broaden your perspective with ethics and humanities, exploring patient care principles vital in diagnostic imaging, and practice hands-on patient care skills through Certified Nurse Aide training. You’ll also learn about the role of infection and disease in cardiovascular health through the study of microbiology and immunology.
Your final semester consists of five flexible electives, allowing you to explore interests in healthcare imaging and tailor your learning toward vascular sonography or another program.
