Student Wellness Challenge

The Student Wellness Challenge invites Owens students to explore all eight dimensions of wellness while earning exciting rewards along the way.
Throughout the academic year, students will participate in activities, programs, events and services designed to support their personal growth, health and success.
Join the Challenge
Getting started is easy:
- Register: Fill out this form to sign up for the challenge.
- Attend: Join qualifying wellness activities, programs or services.
- Scan: Check in using the QR code provided at each event to track progress.
Completion Requirements
To complete the challenge, students must participate in at least one activity in each of the eight dimensions of wellness. Review the eight dimensions of wellness below.
Rewards and Celebration
Finish the challenge by April 23, 2027, to earn exclusive rewards:
- VIP Event: Invitation to the end-of-year celebration at The Ribbon at Glass City Metropark.

Explore the Eight Dimensions of Wellness
Emotional Wellness
Emotional wellness involves understanding and managing your feelings, coping with challenges, building resilience and seeking support when needed. It helps you navigate life’s ups and downs in healthy and productive ways.
Qualifying activities:
- Attend a group counseling session hosted by Counseling Services (days and times TBD).
- Visit a multi-sensory room located in College Hall 124, Heritage Hall, Healthcare Education Center and the Education Center (Findlay-area Campus).
Environmental Wellness
Environmental wellness focuses on creating and maintaining healthy, safe and sustainable surroundings. It includes caring for your personal space, appreciating the natural environment and making choices that positively impact your community and the planet.
Qualifying activities:
- Attend a Title IX Coffee Talk event offered every month in the College Hall Atrium. Topics include Domestic Violence Awareness, Healthy Relationships, Stalking Awareness, Men’s Mental Health, Consent in Sexual Relationships and more!

Financial Wellness
Financial wellness is about developing the knowledge and skills to manage money responsibly. It includes budgeting, saving, understanding financial resources and making informed decisions that support long-term financial stability.
Qualifying activities:
- Visit the Center for Campus and Community Connections located in College Hall 151 and learn about the various ways they support financial wellness.
Intellectual Wellness
Intellectual wellness encourages lifelong learning, creativity, critical thinking and exploration of new ideas. It involves challenging yourself academically, seeking knowledge and developing new skills and perspectives.
Qualifying activities:
- Attend a BIG Read Event.
- Attend a music performance, theater production or art exhibit in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts.

Occupational Wellness
Occupational wellness relates to finding purpose and satisfaction in your academic, career and professional pursuits. It includes career exploration, skill development, goal setting and preparing for future success.
Qualifying activities:
- Schedule an appointment with Career and Transfer Services.
- Participate in a Career and Transfer Services event.
- Utilize a Career Coach or Pathful to explore careers.
- Attend a Discover Your Possibilities virtual event.
- Attend a Common Time virtual event.

Physical Wellness
Physical wellness focuses on maintaining a healthy body through regular activity, nutritious eating, quality sleep and preventive care. It supports energy, health and overall quality of life.
Qualifying activities:
- Complete a workout or use the running track in the SHAC Fitness Center.
- Complete a fitness assessment or create a fitness program with an Owens Exercise Science student. Contact Jami Williamson at jami_williamson@owens.edu to schedule an appointment.
Social Wellness
Social wellness involves building positive relationships, developing communication skills and creating meaningful connections with others. Strong social networks contribute to a sense of belonging and support.
Qualifying activities:
- Attend a Student Activities event.

Spiritual Wellness
Spiritual wellness encourages individuals to explore personal values, purpose, meaning and beliefs. It may involve reflection, mindfulness, faith traditions, service to others or activities that foster a deeper sense of connection and fulfillment.
Qualifying activities:
- Attend a Mindful Monday event: Talk about big ideas or try out yoga, meditation and other activities designed to connect your body and mind.
