With Owens’ EMT – Paramedic certificate, you’ll learn to be the calm authority in any emergency—managing complex trauma, interpreting life-saving data and delivering the highest level of pre-hospital care. After completing the program, you’ll earn a diploma and become eligible to take the National Registry exam. Passing the exam qualifies you for state EMT certification.

EMT to Paramedic
Owens’ Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic Certificate’s effective curriculum includes 32 credit hours of hands-on labs, clinical rotations and expert coursework. Building on your EMT-Basic foundation, you’ll become equipped to apply advanced pre-hospital emergency care across diverse situations.
Your coursework meets DOT, State of Ohio and national curriculum standards. You’ll progress from EMT-Basic fundamentals through anatomy and physiology for paramedics, then advance through Paramedic I–III courses. You’ll develop expertise in patient assessment, advanced interventions and critical decision-making under pressure.
Training covers advanced life support techniques, including airway management, IV and medication administration, cardiac life support, comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic interpretation like EKGs. You’ll learn professional and ethical standards, preparing you to work effectively and compassionately within emergency medical teams.

Enrollment is easy—just fill out an online admissions application to get started. We’ll ask you to submit your transcripts for course placement and college credit.
Upon acceptance, schedule a meeting with your admissions advisor to register for classes. Next, attend an on-campus orientation and meet with your student financial services advisor to discuss ways to pay for college.
