Visiting Students

Owens Welcomes Visiting Students All Year!

Taking classes as a visiting student is a great way to stay on track for graduation or boost your professional skills.

Some of our most popular online classes for visiting students each semester include:

Register as a Guest Student

Guest student status means you’re taking classes for self-improvement, personal satisfaction or job enhancement.

Register as a Transient Student

Transient student status means you’re attending another college or university, and you’re enrolling at Owens for a few classes before returning to the other school.

How To Apply as a Visiting Student

Visiting students do not need to send official transcripts to Owens.

To find course sections, use the Class Schedule Search. You will need to include the subject code, course number and section number for each course. Failure to include these details may delay your registration.

After completing the Request Form, monitor your Owens Student Email for registration confirmation details or error resolution instructions.

Please submit a new Request Form before each semester when you take a course at Owens as a visiting student.

After you register for courses, you can pay your balance online from the Make a Payment link in your Financials Hub in Workday. Please review our Payments and Refunds webpage for additional information on making a payment or setting up a Deferred Payment Plan.

If you typically receive financial aid, contact your home institution’s financial aid office to ask if you qualify for a consortium agreement. The consortium agreement allows financial aid to be based on your combined enrollment at both institutions.

Your financial aid will continue to be managed and disbursed to you by your home college. It is important to know that you remain responsible for paying your balance due at Owens Community College.

Ask About a Consortium Agreement for Financial Aid

If you typically receive financial aid, contact your home institution’s financial aid office to ask if you qualify for a consortium agreement. This agreement allows financial assistance to be based on your combined enrollment at both institutions.

Your home school will still handle your financial aid, but you are responsible for paying any remaining balance to Owens. If your consortium agreement is approved and on file, your enrollment in Owens classes will stay active.
