Through Owens’ online computed tomography (CT) certificate program, you’ll train to produce diagnostic images with advanced imaging techniques. You’ll assist with complex examinations, including tissue biopsies and fluid drainages.
You’ll learn to prepare and administer contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations. As a CT technologist, you’ll master physics, human sectional anatomy, physiology and radiation protection while maintaining precise safety protocols.

Expand Your Radiologic Expertise
This certificate program will prepare you for the computed tomography ARRT examination. There is an additional clinical course available for program students who need to earn competencies to sit for the ARRT CT certification examination.
You are eligible if you already hold current ARRT registration in Radiography or Nuclear Medicine, or have been accepted as a second-year student in Owens’ Radiologic Technology, AAS program.
This program equips certified radiologic technologists with advanced diagnostic imaging skills through four focused online courses:
- CT fundamental principles: Understand the physics and technology behind CT imaging
- Sectional anatomy: Analyze detailed human anatomy in cross-sectional images
- Safety and patient care: Study proper patient assessment, care protocols and radiation safety
- Pathology and protocols: Learn precise imaging techniques for various medical conditions
Your coursework combines imaging fundamentals with clinical applications, preparing you to perform sophisticated diagnostic procedures as a specialized CT technologist.

To be admitted to the School of Nursing and Health Professions (SNHP), you must first fill out an online admissions application and then—after being admitted to Owens—apply to the SNHP.

Upon acceptance, schedule a meeting with your admissions advisor to register for classes. Next, attend an on-campus orientation and meet with your student financial services advisor to discuss ways to pay for college.
