Austen Nissen

Austen Nissen

Austen Nissen grew up building all kinds of things, taking them apart and putting them back together. The lifelong interest and ambition to complete projects helped the Applied Engineering and Industrial Technologies Outstanding Graduate in his education and career. Nissen took College Credit Plus (CCP) classes while at Eastwood High School and received a scholarship to Owens to study welding. He saw welding as a way for him to continue his journey of building things and see them come together to form useful products.

“Owens is a great place to gain a lot of knowledge and experience for a lifetime,” said Nissen. Owens also allowed Nissen to earn an education while staying close to home, continue working his job and show and take care of his horses.

Upon graduation, Nissen hopes to use his skills, education and work experience to excel in his future career.
