Partnerships with Career Technical Education

Owens collaborates with many high schools and their career technical programs to provide an opportunity for students to earn credit while still in high school. Owens and Tech Prep work together to ensure students are provided a solid foundation toward their Owens certificate or degree.

Each program is a unique partnership; students may earn credit in multiple ways. These include:

  • College Credit Plus – students may earn transcripted credit. This means you will be enrolled at Owens, and the grade you earn will be on both your Owens transcript and your high school transcript.
  • Articulated Credit – some programs have articulation agreements. This is an agreement between the high school program and the Owens program. To apply for articulated credit, a student must complete the Application for Credit: Tech Prep form and follow the submission instructions.
  • CTAG Credit – this is a statewide opportunity for the most commonly taught career-tech courses. If a student shows skill and ability through earning the required grade in the high school course, and in many cases, earning a recognized industry credential, the student can complete the necessary form to apply for credit.
