Dillion Gibbs
A lifelong interest in electronics brought this year’s Electrical Engineering and Computer Technologies Outstanding Graduate, Dillion Gibbs, to Owens Community College. Growing up, the Morenci native would open random items in his house just to see what was on the inside. He didn’t know how things worked and always wanted to learn. Gibbs learned to code on his own and decided to come to Owens to take classes to learn even more.
“Having the equipment to build, test and learn on made Owens a great place to learn,” said Gibbs. He credits the smaller class sizes with his opportunity to take a more in-depth dive to develop his skills through “testing and tinkering”.
After graduation, Gibbs plans to gain experience in the electrical engineering field before furthering his education.
