Each of us has someone who inspires us in life. For Kassidy Scott, this year’s Business Technologies Outstanding Graduate, her parents were her inspiration. Their small business and her internship confirmed her love for business.

Scott, a 2020 Northview High School graduate, is a second-generation Owens graduate, following the path of her father, an Army veteran. Once she discovered the Business Transfer Pathway Program, she knew Owens was right for her, saying “I was assigned an advisor whom I absolutely loved and I loved the small class sizes.”

She also acknowledged the faculty and staff’s genuine care for students at Owens for her success. “I honestly wish that Owens was a four-year university as I would finish out my bachelor’s degree here.” Scott also was involved in the College’s Veterans Services’ programming due to her father’s service.

After graduation, Scott will attend the Douglas J. Aveda Institute in Ann Arbor, Michigan and study esthiology, which includes training in skin care, makeup application, hair removal and body treatments. She will then work as a social media coordinator and medical aesthetician at Angie Scott Medical Aesthetics in Lambertville, Michigan.
