Furthering your education while in the workforce was the journey for the 2022 Outstanding Graduate in Food, Nutrition and Hospitality Management, Nakia Randleman. The Perkins High School graduate was unsure of his next step and decided to join the workforce. After working in the kitchen of a local restaurant for years while in school, he decided it was time to obtain a Culinary Arts degree at Owens Community College.

“The program not only has an amazing atmosphere to enhance and learn new skills, but the program has the classes laid out perfectly for you to learn all you can in each class and craft,” said Randleman. He credits the faculty’s dedication to student success with his accomplishments in the program.

Upon graduation, he will move to Put-in-Bay and start his career as a sous chef with the Boardwalk Family of Restaurants at The Keys.
