Wesley Sweet
Family inspires people in different ways. For Wesley Sweet, this year’s Transportation Technologies Outstanding Graduate, growing up on the farm inspired him to become a John Deere Technician. He has been around, operating and repairing heavy equipment since he was a child growing up on his family farm in Georgetown, Ohio. He chose to enroll at Owens Community College because of the John Deere Tech Program, saying “it is a great program with great instructors.” Sweet currently works at Ag-Pro in Georgetown, the largest John Deere Equipment Dealer.
After graduating, Sweet will continue his career as a heavy diesel technician. His message for his fellow graduates and future Owens students is “take time in deciding what you want to do in life, it’s important to do something you enjoy.”
