Why is Commencement moving off campus?
Graduation numbers have grown significantly. Hosting one ceremony at a larger venue allows all graduates to celebrate together and invite as many guests as they wish.
Why not continue with multiple ceremonies?
Based on projections, May 2026 would have required at least seven ceremonies. A single ceremony is more inclusive and creates a shared milestone experience.
Where will the ceremony be held?
The Huntington Center, 500 Jefferson Ave., downtown Toledo.
When is the ceremony?
Friday, May 8 at 2 p.m.
How long will the ceremony last?
The ceremony will last approximately 2 hours.
Will tickets be required for guests to attend?
No. Guests will not need tickets and there is no limit on the number of guests per graduate.
Where will faculty sit during the ceremony?
Faculty will be seated in a dedicated area near the graduates. More details will be available after a ceremony set up is determined.
What about parking?
Parking information will be shared closer to the event.
Is the nurse pinning ceremony included?
No. The nurse pinning ceremony will be held separately. Details will be available soon.
