ServSafe Manager will help students gain an understanding of the importance of proper food handling, knowledge of microbial contamination, and the flow of food in an operation (purchasing, receiving, storage, and preparation). They will gain understanding of sanitary facilities and equipment, as well as the importance of an integrated pest management program. Discussions will also include food safety regulations and standards. All of these areas will prepare the student for the nationally recognized certification exam, to become certified in food protection.
