Express Card


*** The Express Card account was discontinued at the end of the Spring 2019 semester. Go here for more information. ***

The Express Card is an identification and stored-value card. Students can use the Express Card as a student ID for the computer labs, testing center, library and as a stored-value card at on-campus retail locations.

When you get your Express Card, you will be given an Owens College Identification Number (OCID). This will be used in place of your social security number for all College transactions.

  • Via the secure payment drop box located in outside of College Hall 144
  • At Value Transfer Station (VTS) locations:
    • College Hall just outside of the bookstore
    • Student Health And Activities Center (SHAC) across from the Food Court
    • Note: Currency deposits in increments of $1, $5, $10 or $20 can be made at any VTS. There is no maximum deposit limit.

Refer to the academic calendar for dates the College is closed. Offices are closed all major holidays plus the Wednesday prior to and Friday following Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.

About the Card

  • The Express Card Account is non-interest bearing.
  • Only the person pictured on the card is authorized to spend money from that account.
  • Refunds: If your Express Card has a balance you would like refunded, refunds by check are issued after a written request is received by the Office of Student Accounts via email to student_accounts@owens.edu. Refund checks are written in the name of the account holder and mailed to the current address on file in the Record’s office. IMPORTANT: Accounts inactive after thirty-six months will be terminated regardless of balance.

Owens reserves the right to change the account terms and conditions at any time. If a change reduces limits or restricts the account holder’s rights under the terms and conditions, the College will give at least twenty (20) calendar days’ notice by mail. However, if an immediate change is necessary for security reasons, the College may first make the change and then notify the account holder.
