According to the Pew Research Center, nearly 30% of workers nationwide switched jobs in 2022. For Kristin Forman, this year’s outstanding MRI graduate, she is pursuing a new career with her education at Owens Community College.

Forman, a Sylvania Southview graduate, did not originally begin in the healthcare field. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s in counseling from the University of Toledo. Forman worked in education and then stayed home with her children. “I decided to change careers and enter the world of healthcare now that my youngest is starting kindergarten,” she said.

When it came time to choose where to pursue her education, Forman chose Owens because she was able to transfer credits from her previous degree. Owens also is the only school in the nation to offer an associate degree in MRI. “I was inspired to get into the MRI program because I liked the combination of patient care and technical skills utilized in the field,” Forman said.

After graduation, Forman will work at the University of Toledo Medical Center as an MRI technologist.
