About the Program
This certificate program prepares graduates to be an effective contribution to the healthcare industry. Medical Coding Certificate students gain knowledge to appropriately assign medical codes to diagnoses, symptoms, and operative procedures using the various medical coding systems. Students will become components in the ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT coding systems.
Credits earned in this certificate program may be applied toward the Health Information Technology, AAS (Owens Code: HINF) program, if the student wishes to pursue certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).
