Certain employers and colleges to which Owens students are transferring sometimes require disciplinary background checks. Once obtaining the appropriate signature from the student, please fax or email the form to Student Conduct.

FERPA and Student Conduct Records
FERPA is The Family Rights and Privacy Act, a federal law that provides confidentiality of student education records. Institutions may not disclose information about student’s record nor permit inspection of their records without their permission unless such action is covered by exceptions as stipulated in the act.
Student conduct records are protected under FERPA regulations. This means we are not able to share specific information regarding a student’s conduct history unless it is determined that a third party (faculty, staff, etc.) has a legitimated need to know which is determined on a case by case basis.
